“But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak”<\/em> (Hebrews 6:9 KJV)<\/p>\n

Today’s Bible Reading:<\/strong> Acts 2:37-47<\/p>\n

Though all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; in the fullness of time God gave his only begotten son as a ransom for all. He gave his son Jesus Christ that whosoever believes on him should not perish but have everlasting life (See John 3:16)<\/p>\n

In his birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection and even ascension, a new covenant was initiated and put in place that the blessings of Abraham might come upon the gentiles. There are several benefits that accrue from the terms and conditions of this new covenant.<\/p>\n

Our devotion today examines the wisdom and steps to maximize the dividends of the new covenant we have with God.<\/p>\n

Acts 2: 37-47 shows us how the early church maximized the dividends of this new covenant. The Bible says\u00a0that they went out preaching the gospel with the demonstration of the spirit and power. Then as the apostles taught and preached in the church, the lay people or the ordinary members of the church;<\/p>\n

  1. Caught the Spirit of faith<\/li>\n
  2. Committed to the sheepfold<\/li>\n
  3. Continued steadfastly in doctrine, prayer, fellowship, and communion of the apostles.<\/li>\n
  4. Traded with what they had<\/li>\n
  5. Gave to meet needs<\/li>\n
  6. Volunteered to serve and reach out<\/li>\n
  7. Preached the word wherever they went.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This is how the early church lived and maximized the dividends of the new covenant.<\/p>\n

    If they did, then we can. Stay blessed.<\/p>\n

    Our Lord and our God,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

    I understand that there are many things that accompany salvation. I pray today and ask for grace to fully walk this journey until I reap the full benefit of the covenant,\u00a0<\/em>Amen!<\/em><\/p>\n
