Very often in life we just chase and amass things we think we need to make life worth living; very few of us really pause to find out the things we cannot do without.<\/p>\n
Inspired by Billy Graham\u2019s message, I have found out that there are three things we cannot do without.<\/p>\n
Hebrews 9:22 teaches clearly that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins<\/strong>. The blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on Calvary is one of the most important things you need. We cannot do without it. There is no man alive or dead who can do without the shed blood. That is the blood that atoned for our sins. Any man without the blood is separated from God and at the mercy of the events of life.<\/p>\n The shedding of blood was something Christ did as His part in the work of our redemption. He has finished that work; hence the reason for Easter. Jesus Christ laid down His life as a ransom for all, that we would find redemption in the blood. We cannot do without the precious blood of Jesus Christ. (Further reading: Leviticus 17:11<\/a>; Isaiah 53:10-12<\/a>)<\/p>\n The second thing we cannot do without is faith<\/a>. No man, black or white, can do without faith. Hebrews 11:6 teaches that without faith, it is impossible to please God. To believe is our part. Jesus Christ died on the cross to atone for our sins, we can access this grace by faith. Faith is a principal thing. We cannot do without faith if we want to please God.<\/p>\n What then is faith? How do we get faith? How does faith work<\/a>?<\/p>\n Hebrews 11:1, <\/em>so then, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen<\/strong>.<\/em> Faith is reclining on the Word of God. Faith is reclining on Jesus Christ with all of your weight. Faith is trusting in the Word of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God<\/strong>. Faith comes by listening to the Word of God. As you spend time with the Word, you receive faith.<\/p>\n James1:20, 26 says that faith without works is dead<\/strong>. Faith must inspire positive action in order to be alive. Faith needs godly actions<\/a> of obedience and compassion to work. Faith works by works. Don\u2019t tell me your faith, show me your works and I will know your faith.<\/p>\n The third thing we cannot do without is our Christ connection. \u201cI am the vine and you are the branches\u201d<\/strong> said the Lord. \u00a0John 15 teaches on this dynamic. Any branch that does not stay in me withers away, dries up,\u00a0and becomes fruitless.<\/p>\n Without me, you can do nothing. We need our connection<\/a> with Christ to bear fruits. By Jesus Christ we can bear fruits; good fruits, that is useful<\/a> for the one who tills the grounds.<\/p>\n\n
