Not every sexual relationship is harmless. The Bible gives us clear boundaries about sexual behaviour. Here are five forms of sex you should never normalize.
1. Premarital Sex (Fornication)
1 Corinthians 6:181 & 1 Thessalonians 4:32 teach that Sex outside the marriage covenant is called fornication. The scriptures forbid sex outside marriage because God’s design for sexual intimacy is within the covenant of marriage. Don’t seek nor give marriage privileges before entering the marriage covenant.
2. Extra-Marital Sex (Adultery)
Exodus 20:143; Hebrews 13:44 teach that sexual involvement with someone other than your spouse is not just unhealthy but wrong. This is because it violates the marriage covenant, destroys trust, and can devastate families. What begins as a secret can become a wound that affects generations.
3. Perverted or Ungodly Sexual Practices
Romans 1:24–275; Ephesians 5:3–56 reveal that perverted sexual practices dishonour both the body and God. These perverted practices include but are not limited to homosexuality, lesbianism, orgies, threesomes, prostitution, hook up etc. Sexual desire must not become an excuse to practice whatever the flesh desires. There are practices that Scripture describes as dishonourable or contrary to God’s design. Not everything that is possible sexually is therefore permissible biblically.
4. Incestuous Sex
Kindly find time to read Leviticus 18:6–187; 1 Corinthians 5:18; and discover that sexual relations between people who are prohibited from marrying because of close family relationships are expressly condemned in Scripture.
It violates God-given family boundaries and can cause profound damage to families and individuals. Some boundaries exist because they are sacred.
5. Bestiality
In Leviticus 18:239; Exodus 22:1910 explicitly condemns sexual activity involving animals. It violates the distinction God established between human sexuality and the animal kingdom.
God’s boundaries are not designed to restrict life; they are designed to protect what He created.
The world says, ‘If both people agree, anything goes.’ But the Christian doesn’t ask only, ‘Can I do it?’ We ask, ‘Does God approve it?’ Your body belongs to God. Your sexuality is not outside His authority.
1 Corinthians 6:18–2011 commands us to “Flee fornication… ye are not your own; for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”
Agree that SEXUAL FREEDOM WITHOUT BIBLICAL BOUNDARIES CAN BECOME DESTRUCTION. God’s Word doesn’t merely tell us what to avoid; it teaches us how to honour God with our bodies.
- Flee what God says to flee.
- Honour what God calls holy.
- Protect what God has entrusted to you.
