You cannot fully embrace what God is bringing into your life while remaining imprisoned by what happened behind you. God will heal you, restore your strength, give you wisdom to rebuild, and empower you to advance.1
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…” – Philippians 3:13–14 KJV
There are things behind you that you must refuse to carry into your future. The pain was real. The disappointment happened. You may have lost opportunities, relationships, resources, or precious years. But what happened to you must not be allowed to define what can still happen for you. God is able to heal the wounds of yesterday and restore your courage to believe again.2
Forgetting does not mean pretending that nothing happened; it means refusing to remain imprisoned by it. Stop rehearsing the betrayal, regretting every mistake, and measuring tomorrow by yesterday’s losses. By the grace of God, break agreement with fear, shame, bitterness, and defeat. Receive strength to rise again and wisdom to rebuild what was broken.3
Paul said, “I press toward the mark.” There is still something ahead of you worth reaching for. God can break barriers that resisted you before, open new doors, restore wasted opportunities, and establish the work of your hands. You may have been knocked down, but you are not finished. Rise, rebuild, and advance!4
Forget those things which are behind.
Receive healing for your heart, strength for your journey, and wisdom for your next move. Do not live looking backward. Reach forward, press forward, and advance; your past will not have the final word over your future.5
Stay blessed
