Welcome to October 2026 — Our Month of Taking Charge!
There comes a season when waiting must give way to action, hesitation must give way to courage, and prayer must begin to produce corresponding steps of faith. God told Israel, “Behold, I have given you the land: go in and possess the land” (Deuteronomy 1:8). The promise was God’s, but possessing it required their response.
This month, we are arising to take responsibility for what God has entrusted to us. Taking charge is not about controlling people or forcing outcomes. It is about accepting responsibility and exercising our God-given authority through faith, wisdom, and diligent action.
We will pray, but we will also plan. We will believe, but we will also build. We will expect God’s help, but we will also discipline ourselves, develop our gifts, manage our resources, confront our challenges, and take the necessary steps towards progress.
Throughout this month’s SEED, we will be challenged to take charge of our spiritual lives, thoughts, health, relationships, finances, work, ministry, time, opportunities, and assignments. We will learn to seek God early, live by faith, resist the enemy, strengthen ourselves through prayer, overcome the world, and refuse to surrender our future to fear, delay, distraction, or discouragement.
October is also a call to deeper prayer and spiritual sensitivity. Taking charge begins in the spirit. We cannot successfully confront what is before us while neglecting our relationship with God. We must seek His face, hear His Word, pray fervently, walk in righteousness, and remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Spiritual authority grows where there is submission to God.
This month, refuse passivity. Address what you have been postponing. Repair what needs attention. Finish what you started. Make the difficult decision. Learn the necessary skill. Have the important conversation. Start the project. Return to prayer. Share the gospel. Serve faithfully. Give generously. Take the next step. Small acts of obedience and diligence, sustained over time, can produce remarkable change.
I believe October will be a month of clarity, courage, order, discipline, advancement, and fruitfulness. May God give you wisdom for every decision, strength for every responsibility, grace for every challenge, and favour for every assignment. May barriers give way, opportunities open, and the work of your hands prosper according to His will.
As you read each day’s devotional, do more than read—pray, believe, confess, and act. Write down what God puts on your heart and take practical steps. Let the Word become flesh in your daily decisions.
October is our month of taking charge! By faith we will possess, by wisdom we will build, and through diligent action we will advance.
