By faith, you can confront the stubborn, recurring challenges of life. Do not merely complain about the mountain or tolerate the tree, believe God and speak to it!1

“And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” — Luke 17:6 KJV

Jesus teaches that faith can speak to stubborn situations. Some challenges may appear small, yet they keep troubling your peace, progress, health, finances, family, or spiritual life. Faith does not require you to pretend the problem does not exist; faith enables you to confront it while trusting the power and promises of God.

Stop only talking about the debt, begin taking wise action and speaking God’s provision over your finances. Do not surrender your hope because of sickness, seek appropriate care, pray, and keep trusting God. Speak to confusion, recurring setbacks, destructive habits, and every mess that refuses to move. Your faith may seem as small as a mustard seed, but its confidence is in a mighty God.

There are also things that must be uprooted, not merely trimmed. Deal with the root! Forgive where bitterness has taken hold. Repent where sin has opened a door. Correct poor decisions, seek wisdom, and take disciplined action. Then pray boldly and speak in agreement with God’s Word. Faith speaks, faith obeys, and faith acts!

Speak to the sycamine tree! Refuse to spend another season merely describing what is troubling you. Trust God, address the situation, and take the necessary steps. May every stubborn obstacle be uprooted, and may grace, wisdom, healing, provision, and order spring forth in your life!

  • Father, uproot every stubborn obstacle resisting my progress.
  • Lord, give me faith and wisdom to confront every challenge.
  • By Your grace, let healing, provision, and restoration spring forth.
