1 Corinthians 7:1, 28 KJV – Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. [28] But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
Most relationship problems are not caused by one big event; they often develop from small issues that are repeatedly ignored, poorly communicated, or left unresolved.
If you want to succeed in relationships, then you need to resolve all the little challenges in real time. Don’t wait for anything to fester into big issues before solving it. I don’t think relationships, marriage, and companionship should be that challenging but they are.
What are the 5 common causes of challenges in relationships?
1. Poor Communication:
Many relationships suffer because of the partner’s failure to express feelings, expectations, concerns, and needs clearly. This is what creates misunderstandings and resentment. It is important to remember that your partner or associate or friend can’t read your mind nor understand your feelings until they are expressed. Master the art of communicating your feelings, concerns and expectations clearly without being rude.
2. Lack of Trust:
Dishonesty, secrecy, broken promises, or past hurts can weaken confidence in one another. I pray that we learn to be truthful, transparent and accountable. There are many people who expect their partners to trust them when they are not being transparent. Trust also comes when there is transparency. You can’t hide things from me and expect me to trust you; it doesn’t work that way.
3. Unresolved Conflicts:
This is the third most common cause of challenges in relationships. This manifests in two main forms: avoiding problems or repeatedly fighting over the same issues without finding solutions gradually damages the relationship. Most relationships, whether they are professional, romantic, casual will do well when we learn to resolve conflicts without name calling or resentment.
4. Financial Pressure:
In most marital or romantic relationships, different spending habits, debt, inadequate income, or disagreements about financial priorities can create serious tension. I am sure money has destroyed more relationships than any other cause of challenges. Couples that learn financial literacy, management, and discipline are likely to do far better than those who don’t. In fact when money goes through the window, love runs out of the door. May you never lack in the name of Jesus Christ!
5. Lack of Quality Time and Attention:
I pray that we shall all learn how to spend quality time with each other. Time is precious and an investment into things we treasure. Invest your time into building your relationships if they are important to you. When work, phones, friends, children, or other responsibilities consistently receive more attention, partners may begin to feel neglected or disconnected.
May today mark the beginning of lasting great relationships in your life! May you never miss the best moments of life! May you receive the grace to love and be loved in the name of Jesus Christ!
Stay blessed

Amen 🙏
