There is honour in remembering and celebrating those who labour among us, lead us in the Lord, and admonish us. Today, let us thank God for our shepherd, remember the sacrifices and love that go into caring for God’s flock, and strengthen his hands through our prayers.
“And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13 KJV
Shepherding God’s people is both a privilege and a weighty responsibility. Behind every sermon preached, prayer offered, counsel given, soul pursued, and vision carried are sacrifices that may never be publicly seen. Today, as we celebrate Pastor Simpe, let us remember the years of labour, love, prayer, teaching, correction, encouragement, and service invested in building people and advancing the work of God.
Celebration must go beyond kind words; let it become intercession. Paul asked the church, “Brethren, pray for us” (1 Thessalonians 5:25). Pray for your pastor’s strength, wisdom, health, family, ministry, and protection. Pray for fresh grace and greater utterance. Pray that every new year of his life will bring increased fruitfulness and greater impact for the Kingdom.
Above all, pray “that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified” (2 Thessalonians 3:1).1 May the message entrusted to us travel farther, touch more lives, raise more disciples, strengthen more churches, and reach more nations. Happy birthday, Pastor Simpe! May the Lord preserve you, strengthen you, enlarge your influence, and multiply the fruit of your labour.
Today, I thank God for Pastor Simpe and honour the grace and labour invested in shepherding God’s people. I pray that the Lord will renew his strength, increase his wisdom, preserve his life and family, and enlarge his ministry. I declare that the Word of the Lord through him shall have free course and be glorified. May his new year overflow with fresh grace, greater impact, lasting fruit, and the fulfilment of God’s purpose!
