God Has The Final Say!

Plan diligently, but depend completely on God. Our plans are important, but God must have the final say in what we pursue, how we pursue it, and where it leads.

Proverbs 16:1 KJV – “The preparations of the heart in man, And the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.”

Reflection

God expects us to plan, prepare and pursue meaningful goals.¹ Faith does not cancel planning, and trusting God does not mean abandoning wisdom.² Plan your work, prepare your heart and do your best³ – but acknowledge that God is the One who establishes the outcome.⁴

You can have an elaborate plan, excellent preparation and great intentions, yet things may not unfold exactly as you expected. This is where trust in God becomes essential. We plan, but God directs. We prepare, but God establishes.⁵

We have desires, but God has the final say.

Therefore, do not be afraid to make plans. Bring those plans before God. Ask Him to correct what needs correcting, redirect what needs redirecting⁶ and establish what is according to His will.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6 KJV

Plan boldly. Pray sincerely. Submit completely. Let God have the final say.

Today’s Prayer

Father, help me to plan wisely while trusting You completely. Give me the humility to submit my plans to Your will and the faith to follow Your direction. Establish my steps and let Your purpose prevail in my life,⁷ in Jesus’ name. Amen.
